Delectable, Alone Yet Not Alone and The Lorax…There Must Be Giveaways

I know this title must have you wondering, ‘what is she up to this time?’ Well, I have a delightful book to tell you about, remind you of another book I’ve shared and the movie based on it coming out, talk a bit about youngsters on the web and share THREE wonderful giveaways with you.

After the sudden death of his father, Quint McCoy took his grief and regrets out on everyone, especially his wife, Callee. After a particular heated argument, he told her to divorce him and he took off for a month-long fishing trip to Alaska.

Returning home determined to put his life back on track, Quint discovers his mother has taken over his realty office and expanded Big Sky Pie, her soon-to-be open pie shop. He also finds Callee, but she’s there to return her wedding ring before heading to Seattle with their divorce final in a few days.

When Quint’s mother, Molly, collapses shortly after his return, it’s up to him and Callee to make sure her pie shop opens on schedule. Callee will do whatever it takes to keep Molly from getting upset, even if it means working alongside Quint for a few days.

As they work to keep the pie shop on schedule, the couple realizes all that they had and what they’re about to lose.

This is a charming story of family, friends and recapturing true love in a small town atmosphere. There’s a mixture of humor and sadness to balance for a well-developed story. The characters are realistic and likable. The secondary characters add flavor to the story.

Lee has a great start to a sizzling new series. Her eye for detail draws you in until you could swear you smell the aroma of pies baking. She weaves in a few twists along the way for a heart-pounding yummy read.

DELECTABLE is a quick, smooth read that will have you hungry for more. To entice your reading taste buds, Lee includes an excerpt from the next installment in the series.

ALONE YET NOT ALONE - The Movie

You may remember last month I reviewed ALONE YET NOT ALONE by Tracy Leininger Craven. Here’s a brief reminder of it: 

    The Leininger family, like many others, fled Germany for a life of freedom in America. They settled in the Blue Mountains of Pennsylvania. There they lived a life of hard work, but peaceful existence. Then one day while the youngest son and Mrs. Leininger were away to grind their corn harvest, the unthinkable happened. In what would become known as the Penn’s Creek Massacre, Leininger and his oldest son were killed, their cabin burned, and the two daughters taken captive by members of the Delaware tribe. As I mentioned then, that book is being turned into a movie and that movie opens the weekend of Sept. 27/Sept. 29.
